The gorgeous barn and open fields of Scholls Valley Lodge were the perfect backdrops for this dreamy modern-chic-inspired wedding! The bride and groom, Saskia and JR, have the sweetest love story. They met as kids, fell head over heels, and have been together ever since. Although the pandemic postponed their “I do” for a year, the special day finally arrived. And with all of their friends and family there to safely celebrate, it was more than worth the wait!
Summer Wedding Ceremony at Scholls Valley Lodge
The couple’s ceremony took place outdoors, overlooking miles of grassy fields studded with pine trees. The September sun shone, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for a wedding! Rows of classic white folding chairs from The Party Place + Bridgewood awaited guests, while a sign from The Lettering Bee Co. featuring gold and leather accents welcomed them. But, the highlight of the couple’s ceremony decor was their trendy grounded arch from Songbird Floristry. Composed of boughs of eucalyptus dotted with coral and blush florals, it made the couple appear as though they were standing in a lush garden while saying their vows.
For their wedding party’s attire, the couple selected bold scarlet in keeping with the warm tones featured in their ceremony arch. JR and his groomsmen wore scarlet neckties with classic black tuxes, with JR’s tie featuring a subtle floral pattern. Meanwhile, Saskia’s bridesmaids wore floor-length scarlet gowns with mismatched necklines. Of course, Saskia looked stunning in her unique gown by Alexandra Grecco. It featured a deep-v neckline and glittering fil coupé, turning the classic silhouette into a modern masterpiece. Paired with a red lip and a tulle floor-length veil, her look was the perfect mixture of glamour and glam!
An Indoor Reception Under The Stars
The couple’s reception decor also featured a warm and rosy palette. Atop each table, wooden bud vases featured a collection of blooms curated by Songbird Floristry, including blush roses and orange dahlias. In addition, napkins of crushed pink velvet provided by Creative Coverings added a pop of color and texture to the white tablecloths.
However, the highlight of the room was the arch over the couple’s sweetheart table, once again featuring the talents of Songbird Floristry. Fronds of white, green, and amber ferns burst from the lush display, which also featured a scattering of tangerine and pink florals and sprigs of eucalyptus.
For dinner, Screen Door treated everyone to a feast of Southern comfort food which was washed down with cocktails from Blue Stag Mobile Bar. What’s more, Saskia and JR decided to forgo the tradition of a wedding cake. Instead, they assembled an entire table of sumptuous pastries for their guests to enjoy, including cookies, brownies, and pies. Soon, John Ross Music & Production had everyone on the dance floor, and the party didn’t stop until well into the night!
I’m so glad that Saskia and JR entrusted me with their special day at Scholls Valley Lodge. Even through hardships and disappointment, these two stuck it out, and everything came together so beautifully in the end!
