Holly and Patrick’s wedding at Lewis & Clark College was quite simply a fairytale! As we planned, they decided that they wanted to incorporate their love of literature into their special day. So, their reception was a library lover’s dream, with antique books and romantic quotes galore! No detail went unnoticed to utterly transform the tented space into their exact vision.
First Look in the Frank Manor House
Holly and Patrick’s love story began when they auditioned for the same play. Ever since, they’ve shared enjoyment of enchanting stories, music, and dance! As they searched for a venue that could reflect the magic of their bond, they came across the historic gardens of Lewis & Clark College. Between the old brick buildings with stained-glass windows, the towering pine trees, and the view of Mt. Hood, they knew they had found the perfect spot.
As they each got ready for the day, the couple read love letters from one another and anticipated their first look. Then, they traveled separately to the venue with their bridal parties via The Vintage Tour Bus Co. Once they arrived, Holly had a first look with her father outside the Frank Manor House. Then, she stepped inside for the first look with her spouse-to-be! When he saw Holly in her lace and tulle ballgown, Patrick’s face was priceless. With a cathedral train flowing behind her and a golden pearl tiara tucked in her hair, she looked absolutely ethereal.
Storybook Wedding at Lewis & Clark College
From the start of their wedding day to the finish, Holly and Patrick’s love of theatre and storytelling came to life. Their ceremony was based on a screenplay that they wrote with their families, which had every guest smiling. And, their loved ones’ involvement did not stop there! Holly and her mother share a love of antique shopping, so they went out themselves and hunted for treasures to use during the reception. In the end, they found dozens of clear glass plates and chargers for the tablescapes! What’s more, Holly’s mother created rings of paper flowers that hung from the ceiling of the tent.
The details continued for these bookworms! Personalized bookmarks awaited each guest as they arrived for a unique take on traditional escort cards. Then, at each table, florals, stacks of antique books, and candles acted as centerpieces. For a more sustainable approach, the flowers that were used to drape the aisle were also used to bookend the farm tables throughout the tent. Complete with pieces of refurbished antique furniture, the space was a dazzling ode to classic literature and romance!
