Michael and Michelle’s love story began at their workplace. They were coworkers for two years before they started dating in secret! Eventually, they revealed their romance when Michael popped the question. They asked me to plan their backyard wedding, and I had so much fun coordinating this colorful and elegant affair!

Oceanside Backyard Wedding Ceremony

Like many of my couples, Michael and Michelle aren’t big on tradition. Instead, they wanted to think outside the box to create a wedding day that felt true to them. They opted for a backyard wedding at a friend’s house! The location on Long Island was picturesque, with the ocean just visible as the couple said their vows.

In addition to the gorgeous surroundings, the couple brought an elevated sense of style to their ceremony. Michael wore a white dinner jacket with black lapels from The Black Tux, while his groomsmen donned classic black. Meanwhile, Michelle was stunning in a strapless floral lace ballgown from Stella York. She looked like a garden princess! At her side, her bridesmaids wore mauve floor-length dresses in mismatched styles from Birdy Grey. Even the couple’s french bulldog got in on the fun with a sunflower-patterned harness!

Tented Reception with Colorful Details

An elegant sailcloth tent housed Michael and Michelle’s backyard wedding reception. As guests arrived, each selected an escort card from beneath a golden animal-shaped paperweight! Red napkins added pops of color to the place settings, while white tablecloths kept the design minimal. However, the couple’s sweetheart table was the highlight!
