Danielle Caldwell Events: Latest News

I know we are all in agreement that 2020 is not looking like we all imagined. In the span of 4 months, we have postponed 6 of the 8 events left on our calendar. We are truly missing being onsite and producing.  #WishIWasThere

We cannot express enough how very thankful we are to our clients. It has been incredibly difficult to explain all the changes that must occur for things to be “safe”.  Instead of talking fun details, we have become the “buzz kill” or at least that is how it has felt. However, instead of getting upset, our clients have responded with grace and thankfulness. How did we get so lucky!

We are incredibly grateful that we have signed on a few new clients for next year given the uneasiness. Typically we only take on 10 events. Given the circumstances, we are expanding that to 12 which leaves us with 3 openings.

Lastly, the current climate has made us all a little jumpy. We are not ready to be around big groups of people, which is hard considering our role in events. Given our concerns we have made the very hard decision to call 2020 what it is. We will not be taking on any new clients for the 2020 season, and instead we will focus solely current clients and welcoming new 2021 clients.

Thank you to all our clients, vendors, and community that have always shown us so much support!  We are so grateful for everything over the past few years and look forward to your continued support.

Xoxo

Castaway Portland Wedding: Lauren + Jensen

Lauren and Jensen met through mutual friends. After spending almost a year and a half with them wedding planning, I can truly say they are a perfect match. Their taste for fine food, wine, and travel is impeccable. It is no wonder their theme was Grand Budapest Hotel.

The room itself was dressed with ivory drapes, crystal chandeliers, and a gorgeous white bar. Candlelight, greenery, and touches of white floral complemented the scene. Each place setting had gold rimmed glassware, blue satin napkins, a personalized place card, and a gold Chiavari chair. A grand head table that sat no less than 30 people was truly magnificent, and was lined with light blue tapers and rose blooms.

Portland Art Museum Wedding: Lauren + Will

I first met Lauren and her mother Kim a little over a year ago. One of the things that stood out right away was they both knew what they wanted, and had a great eye for detail.

Lauren and Will met in grade school and have since been inseparable.  Their story and wedding is nothing short of amazing and beautiful.

The ceremony took place in the Sunken Ballroom. The entrance stairs to the ceremony were lined with cascading florals.  A custom rose cross captured everyone’s vision in the backdrop.  Music was provided by Effesenden and a watercolor painter was hired by the bride’s oldest sister to capture the special moment.

The cocktail hour and reception was held in the Kridel Ballroom.  The two events were separated by pipe and drape in the ballroom.  A long and elegant bar surrounded by bistro tables decorated the cocktail area.  The reception, which was set for 200, had multiple centerpieces of all heights, chandeliers, and seating areas that outlined the dance floor  The roses that cascaded down the stairs to the ceremony were used to drape the stage, which tied together the florals cascading the 5 tier wedding cake by Dream Cakes.  Art of Catering served dinner, butler style, and Shawn of Event Team Entertainment kept the crowd dancing the night away.
