Maya and David are college sweethearts! After five years of dating, they proposed to each other in an intimate exchange of letters and rings in their apartment. Two years later, they exchanged rings again in the presence of their loved ones, along with handwritten vows for their fall wedding at The Roundhouse! I loved getting to know these two, and planning their wedding at this stylish venue was a designer’s dream.
Wedding at The Roundhouse with Fall Colors
Nature has always been a source of comfort and bonding for this couple. Accordingly, they chose to draw inspiration from the autumn leaves for their November wedding! They shared a vision for a monochromatic color scheme, and since David is color-blind, they landed on yellow as the primary hue for their wedding day details. Athabold delivered beautifully, with a bouquet for Maya filled with a tonal mix of orange and yellow flowers. Meanwhile, massive yellow chrysanthemums added gorgeous texture!
For the couple’s ceremony at The Roundhouse, Athabold dreamed up a stunning, asymmetrical pillar design using yellow leaves, fresh branches, and sprays of yellow flowers. Additionally, they arranged reception centerpieces that burst with a mix of yellow and warm brown leaves atop tall cylinder vases. Their stylings were a highlight of this affair, and I cannot recommend them enough to New York couples!
Throughout the day, Maya and David also incorporated forest green and light gray details to offset the yellow and add a touch of moodiness. Maya’s wedding party donned green dresses, while David’s attendants wore gray suits. Soft gray linens and chargers at their reception added depth and played wonderfully against the warmth of the centerpieces.
Unique Touches to Personalize Your Wedding Day
Maya and David wanted their wedding day to feel authentically “them,” so it was paramount to include personal touches throughout the day. David’s college roommate acted as their officiant, which was a full-circle moment since the two met in college! They also chose to invite friends and family from every stage of their lives to witness their vow exchange. Guests traveled from Europe, South America, Asia, and the surrounding area to gather at The Roundhouse and toast to the newlyweds!
Additionally, as an ode to their love of humor, David and Maya had custom socks made with each other’s faces. They wore them all day long, and David paired them with classic black brogues while Maya opted for white leather sneakers. I firmly believe you should always be comfortable on your wedding day, so I loved that Maya decided to hop on the bridal sneaker trend!
This wedding at The Roundhouse was a gorgeous ode to autumn. I’m so glad I could help Maya and David bring their vision to life!
