In my 15 years as a wedding and event planner, I've seen some truly beautiful love stories, and Katherine and Jimmy's wedding is right at the top of that list. The Focal Point for the Garden Inspired Wedding Design

While they both looked dashing on their wedding day, Katherine's unique floral wedding dress became the focal point of their wedding theme. It was fun to incorporate it into every aspect of their decor! When we began planning, they opted for a garden-inspired concept, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that showcased the natural aesthetics of the venue. From there, we adorned the ceremony with an array of blush pink and white flowers that reflected the couple's preference for understated elegance. The greenery's lively accents perfectly complemented the theme, and provided a stunning contrast to the soft hues.

By choosing more minimalist décor, Katherine and Jimmy allowed the mesmerizing beauty of Tappan Hill Mansion's gardens to become an essential part of their celebration, while letting their profound affection for each other take center stage.

A First Look at Tappan Hill

Katherine and Jimmy’s wedding day started with an emotional first look at Tappan Hill. On the beautiful garden terrace of Tappan Hill Mansion, Katherine and Jimmy caught their first glimpse of each other, and the atmosphere was just electric. Surrounded by breathtaking views and perfectly tended gardens, it was the ideal spot for such a heartwarming and emotional exchange. We were off to a great start for their wedding day!

Garden-Inspired Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held at Tappan Hill Mansion, a historic venue that is just a short 45-minute drive from Manhattan. The location is situated atop a hill that provides an incredible view of the Hudson River, which made it the ideal setting for their garden-inspired wedding theme. Personally, it’s truly one of my favorite wedding venues.

The flower arrangements were a noteworthy feature of the wedding decorations, meticulously placed with lovely white and blush pink blooms lining the aisle. The most striking display was positioned where Katherine and Jimmy exchanged their vows, creating an unforgettable backdrop for their joyful union.

Then, as the newlyweds made their way down the aisle after the ceremony, guests threw flower petals to adorn the aisle. It was perfect.

The Reception: The Magic in the Details

As a wedding planner and designer, I can tell you that focusing on little details can turn any event from lovely to extraordinary. That’s why it was such an honor working with Katherine and Jimmy.

The decorations we went with were simple yet elegant. White elevated linens and diamond back chairs were paired with a hint of blush and greenery. The tables were adorned with gorgeous tapers, crystal votives, and lush flowers that made you feel like you were in a fairy tale. It was a magical garden-like setting.

A big part of my job is collaboration, and I would be amise if I didn’t give a shout-out to all the vendors who helped put together Katherine and Jimmy's wedding. They poured their heart and soul into making sure everything was perfect. From the show-stopping escort card display, to the wedding cake (which was a masterpiece in itself!), they didn’t miss a beat!
