A Magical Fall Wedding at Tappan Hill

October weddings in New York have a certain magic, and there’s something particularly dreamy about a fall wedding at Tappan Hill. When Belissa and Erik reached out to me, they were hoping for a day that showcased the rich beauty of autumn—with warmth, elegance, and touches of romance throughout. Planning their October wedding was a dream, and I am so excited to share the story behind their unforgettable day.

But first, are you dreaming of your own stunning fall wedding at Tappan Hill (or anywhere in New York)? I’d love to bring your vision to life! Reach out today, and let’s start planning the wedding day you’ve always wanted.

Getting Ready at The Opus

The morning kicked off at The Opus in Westchester, where Belissa and her bridesmaids gathered for some cozy hours of laughter, hair, and makeup. Belissa looked stunning as her glam team worked their magic, bringing out her natural glow. Her dress? An absolute showstopper! With intricate lace detailing, a fitted bodice, and a soft, flowing train, it was classic with a fresh, modern twist. The off-the-shoulder neckline highlighted her shoulders and décolletage beautifully, adding a touch of romance and elegance that suited her perfectly.

Her bridesmaids complemented her look in warm, burnt-orange satin gowns with off-the-shoulder sleeves, a nod to the earthy, fall color palette. Their bouquets—soft pinks, whites, and peaches with green accents—tied the entire look together. As everyone finished getting ready, the excitement was electric!

Erik got ready with his groomsmen, kicking off the day with some laughs and a toast before the ceremony. The guys looked sharp in bold blue suits, with Erik standing out in a classic burnt-orange bow tie, while his groomsmen wore matching burnt-orange ties. The warm, autumn color added a stylish pop against their blue suits, tying into the fall wedding theme perfectly.

Before the wedding ceremony Belissa and Erik met to share a private first look moment and portraits with their family and friends.

A Romantic Aisle of Autumn Blooms

The wedding ceremony took place inside at Tappan Hill, which looked incredible with its cozy yet elegant setup. At the start of the aisle, Damselfly Designs arranged two tall, dark vases filled with lush, autumn-inspired blooms, creating a warm and inviting entrance for guests. Rows of gold-colored chairs led to an altar dressed in flowing white drapery and more floral arrangements. They wanted Belissa and Erik’s guests to feel as if they were stepping into a magical fall garden, and we think they hit the mark.

Along the aisle, they placed additional floral accents that echoed the earthy tones and textures of Belissa’s bouquet. Her bouquet was a true autumn masterpiece, featuring cream and blush roses, deep burgundy accents, pale pink blooms, and light green leaves. Wispy dried grasses and pampas added a hint of boho texture, creating a bouquet that felt both luxurious and down-to-earth. As Belissa walked down the aisle with her father, the entire setup created an atmosphere of warmth, romance, and the timeless beauty of fall in New York.

A Cozy and Elegant Reception

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception space. We wanted the room to feel cozy but still bring out the elegance Belissa and Erik were looking for. Round tables covered in gold-sequined tablecloths sparkled, adding a bit of glamour. Each table was topped with either tall or short centerpieces featuring greenery, cream and blush roses, and pampas grass for that warm, fall touch. We arranged candles around each centerpiece to give the whole room a soft, romantic glow.

Above, we draped the ceiling with fabric and twinkle lights, which really brought the whole look together. The room felt welcoming and warm—perfect for an evening of celebration.

A Wedding Cake with a Personal Twist

And then there was the cake! Belissa and Erik went with a three-tiered, minimalist design that was both classic and unique. Smooth and white, the cake was adorned with delicate white floral embellishments to keep with the elegant theme. But, in true Belissa and Erik style, they added a fun twist—tiny animal figurines of their cat and dog perched on the cake, along with a miniature couple on top. It was playful, personal, and had guests smiling all night.

We placed the cake on a table surrounded by floral arrangements in pink, peach, and cream to tie it into the overall decor, and it looked absolutely stunning.

A Magical Evening at Tappan Hill

As the night went on, laughter, music, and heartfelt toasts filled the air, and Belissa and Erik celebrated surrounded by family and friends. The dance floor was packed, and you could feel the joy and love in every moment.
