As the wedding season draws to a close, I can't help but take a moment to reflect upon the incredibly fulfilling year it has been. Being a wedding planner in New York has allowed me the privilege of creating memorable events for remarkable couples. I'm immensely grateful for the amazing clients I've had the pleasure of working with and the unique experiences I've been able to curate while orchestrating their special day.
Witnessing my couples' faces light up as everything falls into place is one of the most cherished moments on a wedding day. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do this every single day, and today, I'm sharing some of my favorite 2023 details from this past season on the blog below. Then, when you’re done scrolling, reach out here and get in touch about YOUR wedding day.
#1 Black Rimmed Charger Plates
Oh boy, did these stunning chargers ever make a statement. When I'm designing a wedding, I always love to add in unexpected elements that truly stand out. These chargers brought an extra level of uniqueness and charm to the occasion. The simple black rim on the glass chargers tied the entire table together and allowed all of the other details to shine.
#2 Mixing and Matching Table Shapes + Settings
This isn’t exclusive to 2023 wedding details, but I always love the opportunity to mix round and rectangular reception tables. For added visual interest, I often switch up the tabletop slightly.
#3 Using Acrylic as a Base for Signage or Stationery Alternatives
Acrylic has been making waves in the wedding industry for some time, but this recent season has showcased an even greater level of creativity in its application. From signage to stationery alternatives, acrylic has become incredibly popular, regardless of the overall aesthetic my couples are going for. Last season, I used it for both my client’s seating chart and their invitations! It gave a modern and sleek look that was perfect for the luxe vibe they were going for.
#4 Adding Fur Babies to Your Signature Cocktail Sign
I will always advocate for infusing YOU into your wedding design, and adding your fur baby onto your cocktail sign is a great place to start! If you are looking for ways to add in personal details to your decor, choosing “smaller” pieces like your signature cocktail signage is a great place to start. After all, almost every single guest will see it (without it taking up a large portion of your reception space).
#5 Vinyl Wraps on the Dance Floor
Dance floor wraps can give a room an entirely new look and feel. Not only do they look amazing, but the best part is that these wraps are custom made for each event, meaning you can choose whatever design you like! Whether you're looking for something classic or modern, with your monogram or other geometric shapes, dance floor wraps provide a great way to personalize your event's decorations. Plus, their glossy finish gives them a luxurious look that won't soon be forgotten by your guests.
#6 Meadow-style Floral Arrangements
I love the look that meadow-style floral arrangements can create. They give a wild and romantic feeling to a wedding or special event, and can also bring together colors and shapes in a more natural, organic way. Even better, these arrangements are easy to repurpose from your wedding ceremony to your sweetheart table or reception entrance!
#7 Statement Linens
Let me be the first one to tell you - I don’t believe there is any such thing as “just a white linen.” The truth is that linens can be the most transformative way to take your wedding design from basic to elevated. Whether you’re looking for something classic or want to go bold, linens provide an opportunity to unify a space, subtly hint at a unique theme, and play up your color palette.
