Getting Ready: The Morning Excitement
The day began at The Opus Westchester, where Morgan and her bridal party enjoyed a morning filled with laughter, bubbly, and excitement. The bride wore a classic white pajama set with lace trim that perfectly complemented the soft, pastel tones of her bridesmaids’ light blue outfits. As they sipped champagne by the window, you could feel the anticipation building!
Morgan slipped into her wedding gown, a timeless design with delicate floral details and a flattering silhouette. Her powder-blue wedding shoes—a perfect "something blue"—added a fun and personal touch that was both stylish and sentimental. There was also a beautiful moment when Morgan gifted her mom a personalized embroidered handkerchief. The touching message brought smiles and tears, reminding everyone how much thought and love went into every detail of the day.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the morning was when Morgan’s dad saw her for the first time in her gown. As he walked through the door, his proud smile said it all, and when he hugged his daughter tightly, you could feel the love radiating between them. It was a moment that had everyone in the room a little teary-eyed.
Meanwhile, Brad and his groomsmen were getting ready for the big day. Dressed in classic black tuxedos and suspenders, they looked dapper and ready to celebrate. The excitement in the air was palpable, and it set the perfect tone for the day ahead.
First Look: A Sweet and Emotional Moment
When Morgan and Brad saw each other for the first time that day, it was pure magic. The first look took place on the sprawling lawn of the Tappan Hill Mansion (this mansion does NOT disappoint!). Brad’s face lit up the moment he saw Morgan, and their laughter and happy tears together made this moment so unforgettable.
They exchanged a few quiet words, holding hands and soaking in the moment together. It’s moments like this that remind me why I love weddings so much.
Pro Tip: A first look is a great way to calm those pre-ceremony jitters and get some more photos taken!
The Ceremony: A Breathtaking Hudson Valley Backdrop
The ceremony took place outside, overlooking the rolling hills and the Hudson River. A stunning floral arch framed Morgan and Brad as they said their vows, featuring lush white roses, soft blue hydrangeas, and greenery that gave a romantic, springtime feel. Morgan, who is from the South, wanted the ceremony to evoke southern charm, and the combination of warm hospitality, soft florals, and heartfelt touches made it feel like a Southern fairytale brought to life in the Hudson Valley.
One of the most touching parts of the ceremony was Morgan’s walk down the aisle, escorted by both her mom and dad. Their pride and love were evident in every step as they walked arm-in-arm toward Brad, who was beaming at the end of the aisle. It was a beautiful moment that perfectly captured the importance of family on such a special day. Adding to the intimate and meaningful atmosphere, Morgan’s stepfather officiated the ceremony, lending his personal touch and making the exchange of vows all the more heartfelt.
As Morgan and Brad exchanged heartfelt vows under the arch, their love story took center stage. The cheers from their friends and family when they were pronounced husband and wife were loud enough to echo across the Hudson Valley! It was the perfect beginning to their life together.
Reception: A Night Full of Celebration
If the ceremony set the romantic tone, the reception brought the party! My day-of team and I worked tirelessly to decorate The Tappan Hill Mansion’s ballroom elegantly. We draped the long tables in white linens and topped them with soft greenery and floral arrangements in whites and blues. Twinkling string lights added a warm, cozy glow to the room, making it feel intimate despite the grandeur.
Dinner was a feast, and the laughter and stories shared around the tables showed just how loved Morgan and Brad are. The speeches were equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, with plenty of memorable moments, including a toast that had everyone on their feet.
As the night went on, the dance floor came alive. Morgan and Brad’s guests threw down some serious moves, and the couple wasn’t shy about joining in! One standout moment? A group of Brad’s friends hoisted him into the air as he laughed and threw his hands up in the air.
The Perfect Ending
Morgan and Brad’s spring wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion was truly one for the books. From the touching first look to the unforgettable dance floor moments, every detail came together perfectly. It was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and the kind of joy that makes you believe in happily-ever-afters.
